January 2003 Hello Dads, This newsletter is to make sure you know about Ephesians 6:1 in case you have not yet incorporated it into your child rearing. The key point for dads is: As they grow up, children need to know that one of the most important principles God wants them to follow is to obey their parents. The specific Bible verse for this is: Ephesians 6:1 ãChildren, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.ä Children need to know from an early age that this is for their own benefit. Older children need to realize that the cost of obedience is nothing compared to the scars that can result from disobedience. I want to encourage your whole family to memorize this verse. May I also give a quick reminder to you dads? Make sure you are living the Christian life yourselves, so your kids respect you enough to follow what you say. Your brother in Christ, |
