Dear Dads and Husbands,

This month's key point is critical. Don't be deceived and mess up like I have for way too many years.

Key point:

Your first ministry should be to your wife!

(The Lord has many great things He wants to do through you, including the critical job of raising your children in Him, but don't neglect your wife along the way.)

Important Bible verse:

Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her"

Let's be asking our wives the following question, "What can I do to be a better husband for you?"

One other point is that most husbands know Ephesians 5:22 ("Wives, submit to your husbands"), but let's let the Lord take care of that with our wives. We need to worry about ourselves doing what is directed in Eph 5:25-33b, and then we'll be amazed at how much our wives respond to us.

Also, regarding "submitting," never forget that Eph 5:22 is preceded by Eph 5:21, "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."

Let's make sure we do all we can to keep our priorities in order.
