DAD'S NEWSLETTER
March 2004 (No procrastination) Dear Dads, It is sad to see kids and young adults with improper, even sinful behavior because their parents did not deal with wrong actions or attitudes at the time they would come up. Key point for dads: Deal with wrong behavior from your children right away. Do not overlook it, hoping it will somehow go away by itself. Important Bible verse: Hebrews 12:11 "All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness." For a Biblical illustration of a father's failure, you can read the story of Eli's two wicked sons (I Samuel 2:12-25), and how he allowed them to get away with their improper behavior (I Samuel 3:13.) Please don't procrastinate on correcting your children when they need it. When we get old and look back, there won't be many things worse than not raising our children properly when we had the chance. Your brother in Christ, Al Wylie |
