May, 2004 (Anatomical words) Dear Dads, We need to help and protect our children by not letting them use slang words for "private parts." We need to put aside any embarrassment on our part and communicate openly with our children about this. God did not create our bodies for unwholesome discussions and purposes, and we need to be careful how we think and talk about parts of our anatomy that are met for personal and private use. Key point for dads: We need to teach our children to not use slang words for parts of the body that God has made for sexual purposes. The proper anatomical words should be used in an open, straight forward, God honoring way. Important Bible verse: Ephesians 4:29 "Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth" When you stop and think about it, slang words for "private parts" of the body are normally used in a vulgar way or to arouse sexual desires in an unwholesome way. We need to teach our children to refer to anatomical parts properly in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. Let me be direct here in case I'm not being understood. Use terms like breasts, vagina, and penis in a straight forward, factual way. Don't use the slang words that arouse and degrade people. Please do realize that the slang words are quite degrading to females, and we certainly don't want them being used around or in reference to our wives or daughters We need to use the proper words the way God means for them to be used as part of His creation.
