DAD'S NEWSLETTER
November, 2004 Dear Dads, I would like to encourage you, if you are not already doing so, to start a Thanksgiving tradition where family members share events or blessings for which they are thankful to the Lord. Key point for dads: Plan in advance how to make Thanksgiving for you and your family a time of realizing and thanking the Lord for what He has been doing in each of your lives. Important Bible verse: Psalm 92:1 ãIt is good to give thanks to the Lordä Certainly there are many ways that this can be done, so please pray about what is best for your family. Here is what the Lord has led us to do in our home. My wife and I ask our children and possible guests, a few days in advance, to be ready to share a couple of things from the past year, for which they are thankful to the Lord. Then after dinner at the table or later in the front room, each person shares with the group. There are certainly many possibilities, including sharing scripture and praying, but please realize it is important for the father to lead this, even if you think your wife might be better at it. Have a blessed Thanksgiving. Your brother in Christ, |
