Dear Dads,

Here is more information from the Chuck Swindoll tapes regarding Biblical Principles of Child Rearing. The main text is from Deuteronomy 6:5-7 with Moses giving critical information to parents regarding raising their children in the Lord.

In the past when I heard this particular tape, I would realize the importance of fathers teaching their children the Bible. While that is still critical for us to do, there are other key items that each of us needs in our own life.

Key Point #1- Loving God in all aspects of our life should be our top priority.

Deuteronomy 6:5- And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Question to dads: Is the love of Jesus real in your house?

Key point #2- It is critical that we are good examples to our children.

We need to be able to tell our children what Paul said in Philippians 4:9. "Whatever you have·seen in me- put it into practice."

Key point #3- Training children is the responsibility of parents. (It is our job! It is not enough to just take them to Sunday school or even to send them to a Christian school.)

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 ·these words, which I am commanding you today·you shall teach them diligently to your sons·..

Stay in the battle men. We only get to raise each child one time.

Your brother in Christ,

Al Wylie
